If you have ever googled Used Cisco, you know that there are a plethora of search results that come up, and if you have gone so far as to click through a few of those results you will see that the words “used” and “refurbished” seem to be used interchangeably. So that means they mean the exact same thing right?

In fact, the only thing that Used Cisco equipment and Refurbished Cisco equipment have in common is that they both start out as used or, as most network equipment resellers say, preowned. The reality is, that used Cisco switches remain just that, used. While Refurbished Cisco switches go through extensive testing, repair(s), factory resets and cleaning, to bring them back to like new condition.
