EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU  Cisco 1900/2900/3900 Series 1-Port Gigabit Ethernet EHWIC Module

The CISCO EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU is a single port Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Module that provides Gigabit Ethernet optical and copper connectivity in a compact form factory to the Cisco ISR G2  ( Integrated Service Router Generation 2). For flexibility, the EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU includes one SFP slot, which supports a CISCO SFP, and a copper RJ-45 Port that can be active one at a time.

The Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Dual-Identity Enhanced High-Speed WAN Interface Card (EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU) brings both SFP  ( Small Form Factor Pluggable) and RJ-45 (copper) Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity to Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs) through a dual-purpose uplink.  In doing so, the EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU allows for the acceleration of  applications such as Ethernet WAN Access, Inter-VLAN routing and High-speed connectivity to LAN switches.

The Enhanced performance of the EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU in Cisco Integrated Service Routers Generation 2, not only enables new applications and services but it also provides greater capacity for existing inter-VLAN Routing and bridging capabilities.  The EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU  enables branch offices to  cost-effectively use high -speed uplinks in a variety of environments as well as, enable them to connect to EWAN Layer 2 and 3 services.
